The AIRVERSA Humelle was the first humidifier for Apple Home to run over Thread, and that choice fixes the usual problem with humidifiers: they sit in bedrooms, often far from the router, where Wi-Fi accessories are least reliable. Thread meshes through your other mains-powered Thread devices instead.
Capacity
A 5.5 litre tank, up to 60 hours of running between fills, output up to 330 ml an hour, and a rating for rooms up to 50 square metres. A tank that size is the difference between filling it nightly and filling it twice a week.
Sensing and control
Humidity and temperature sensors are built in, so it can run a genuine closed loop: set a target humidity in the Home app and let the machine hold it, rather than running a fixed fan speed and hoping. Three modes cover manual, automatic and night, with ten output levels on the touch control.
It warns you when the water is low and switches itself off when the tank empties.
Extras
An integrated mood light is controllable from Apple Home, and the unit doubles as an aroma diffuser.
What works in Apple Home
- Turn the humidifier on and off, and set the target humidity.
- Read the current humidity and temperature.
- Control the mood light.
- Use it in scenes and automations, and control it with Siri.
Before you buy
Thread needs a border router: a HomePod mini, a HomePod (2nd generation) or an Apple TV 4K. Without one the Humelle falls back to Bluetooth and loses the advantage you paid for.
