Aqara Smart Lock U200

The Aqara Smart Lock U200 is a retrofit lock. It fits over the cylinder of your existing door, so the outside of the door does not change and your old keys still work. It adds Apple Home Key, a fingerprint reader, PIN codes and NFC cards.

What works in Apple Home

• Lock and unlock the door from the Home app, and see the current state.
• Tap an iPhone or an Apple Watch on the lock to open it with Apple Home Key.
• Get a notification on every lock and unlock event.
• Trigger scenes and automations from the lock, or lock the door as part of a scene.

Siri asks you to authenticate before it unlocks the door. That is how Apple Home treats every lock, and it is not a limitation of this model.

Connectivity

The U200 uses Thread, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC. Thread means the lock joins your Apple Home network through a Thread border router, such as a HomePod mini, a HomePod (2nd generation) or an Apple TV 4K. You do not need a manufacturer hub for that. Thread usually gives a faster response and better range than Bluetooth on its own.

Before you buy

Aqara sells the U200 in two door standards. One fits Euro profile cylinders and selected Scandinavian cylinders. The other fits US single-cylinder deadbolts with a 2 3/8 in or 2 3/4 in backset. Measure your cylinder before you order, because the two kits are not interchangeable.
