The Bosch Smart Home Controller II is the hub for Bosch’s own smart home range, and a software update turned it into a Matter bridge. That is what puts it in this directory: the controller passes Bosch accessories through to Apple Home even though those accessories do not speak Matter themselves.

What it brings into Apple Home

Bosch’s second-generation devices are the ones that cross over, including the Light/Shutter Control II, the Radiator Thermostat II, the Room Thermostat II 230 V and the relays. Door and window contacts, motion detectors, smart plugs and the Twinguard smoke detector work natively in the Bosch system.

Not every Bosch accessory is exposed, and the list has grown with firmware updates rather than arriving complete. Check the specific model you own against Bosch’s current list before you count on it.

Why this matters in Europe

Bosch’s radiator thermostats and shutter controls are built for European hardware: standard radiator valve threads and roller shutter motors. Those are exactly the categories where Apple Home users in Europe have the least choice, so bridging them in is worth more than another way to switch a lamp.

Before you buy

The controller is the hub for the Bosch system, so it is not optional if you own Bosch accessories.

As with any Apple Home accessory, remote access and automations need a home hub in the house: a HomePod or an Apple TV.
