ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI Robot Vacuum & Mop

The ECOVACS DEEBOT X2 OMNI is a robot vacuum and mop with a square front rather than the usual round body. That shape is a functional choice: a square corner reaches into the corner of a room, where a round robot always leaves a curved gap.

The OMNI station is the other half of the product. It empties the dust bin, washes the mop pads with hot water and dries them, so the routine maintenance drops to emptying a bag and topping up a tank.

What works in Apple Home

Apple Home supports robot vacuums through Matter, and it covers the basics: start and stop a clean, send the robot back to its dock, and read its current state, so the vacuum can join a scene such as “cleaning while we are out”.

Mapping, room-by-room cleaning, no-go zones, suction levels and schedules live in the ECOVACS app. Treat Apple Home as the remote control and the manufacturer’s app as the settings panel. That split is normal for every Matter robot vacuum, not a limitation of this one.

Before you buy

The station is large and needs clear space around it plus a permanent socket. Measure the spot before you buy, because it is much bigger than a plain charging dock.

Hot-water mop washing needs the tanks filled and emptied. It is far less work than washing pads by hand, but it is not no work.
