EZVIZ SHC E6

The EZVIZ E6 is an indoor camera that rotates through a full circle and shoots at 3K, which is sharper than the 2K most indoor cameras manage and well beyond the 1080p that is still common.

Auto-zoom tracking is the feature that uses that resolution properly: when the camera spots a person it follows them and zooms in, so you get a usable face rather than a distant shape crossing a room.

Privacy

A physical privacy shutter closes over the lens. That matters more for an indoor camera than any software setting, because a closed shutter is something you can see from across the room, and no firmware bug can open it.

What works in Apple Home

• View the live feed in the Home app.
• Get motion notifications.
• Turn the camera on and off in scenes and automations.

EZVIZ’s own AI human and pet detection runs in the EZVIZ app rather than the Home app.

Before you buy

The camera is mains-powered and plugs in, so it needs a socket within reach of where you want to mount it.

Night vision comes from two infrared lamps reaching around 10 metres, which suits a room rather than a garden. For outdoors, the EZVIZ EL3 is the one built for it.

As with any Apple Home accessory, remote access and automations need a home hub in the house: a HomePod or an Apple TV.
