iRobot Roomba Combo® 10 Max robot + AutoWash™ dock

The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max pairs a vacuum-and-mop robot with the AutoWash dock, which is where the interesting engineering sits. The dock empties the bin, then washes the mop pad and dries it with warm air, so a damp pad is not left sitting in a cupboard between cleans.

The robot lifts its mop pad up onto its body when it moves onto carpet, so it can vacuum carpet and mop hard floors in the same run without you moving anything.

What works in Apple Home

Apple Home supports robot vacuums through Matter. You can start and stop a clean, send the robot to its dock, and read its state, which is enough to put the vacuum into a scene or an automation, for example to start a clean when the last person leaves.

Room mapping, keep-out zones, schedules and cleaning modes stay in the iRobot app. That division applies to every Matter robot vacuum.

Before you buy

The AutoWash dock is tall and wide and needs a permanent mains socket with clear space in front of it. Check the spot you have in mind against the dock dimensions rather than against your old charging base.

Running costs are real: dust bags, filters, brushes and mop pads are consumables. Price a year of them alongside the machine.
