The JBL 4329P is the larger powered studio monitor in JBL’s home range, above the 4305P: a bigger cabinet, a bigger bass driver and more amplification, in the same professional-derived design.
Like the smaller model it is a complete system. Amplification, digital conversion, room compensation and streaming are inside the speakers, so a source and a pair of mains sockets is all it needs.
What Apple Home actually does with it
This is an AirPlay 2 speaker rather than a HomeKit accessory.
- It appears in the Home app as a speaker you can play to, and as an AirPlay target in Control Centre.
- You can assign it to a room and group it with HomePods for synchronised multi-room audio.
- Siri can send music to it by room name.
- It can be the audio output in a scene or an automation.
You cannot switch it on or set its volume from the Home app the way you would a light. Those stay with the speaker itself and its own app.
Before you buy
These want stands and space behind them. A large monitor pushed against a wall loses much of what you paid for.
The classic JBL look is a genuine part of the appeal, and the cabinets are finished as furniture rather than as studio tools.
Consider the room size honestly. In a small room the 4305P is the better match.
