The Level Lock hides inside the door. Level puts the motor and the electronics into the bolt itself, so the outside of the door keeps the hardware and the keys you already have. Nothing on the door tells a visitor that the lock is smart.
What works in Apple Home
- Lock and unlock the door from the Home app, and see the current state.
- Get a notification each time the door locks or unlocks.
- Use the lock in scenes and automations, for example to lock up at bedtime.
Siri asks you to authenticate before it unlocks the door. That is how Apple Home treats every lock, and it is not a limitation of this model.
Connectivity
The Level Lock uses Bluetooth. It pairs directly with the Home app. For remote access and for automations you need an Apple Home hub in the house: a HomePod or an Apple TV.
Before you buy
This model does not support Apple Home Key, and there is no keypad. Everyone who needs access therefore needs a key, a phone or a Level key card. If you want to tap an iPhone or an Apple Watch on the door, choose the Level Lock+ (Matter) instead.
The invisible design is the reason to buy a Level. It suits doors where a keypad or a large escutcheon would look wrong, such as a period front door or a shared entrance with a fixed appearance.
