The LIFX Colour 1100lm is the brighter of the two standard LIFX A19 bulbs. At 1100 lumens it stands in for a 75 W incandescent bulb, so it suits ceiling fittings, hallways and any room where one bulb has to do all the work.
What works in Apple Home
- Turn the light on and off, and set brightness, colour and white temperature.
- Group it into rooms and zones alongside the rest of your lighting.
- Use it in scenes and automations, and control it with Siri.
Connectivity
LIFX bulbs join your Wi-Fi network directly. There is no bridge to buy, no hub to power and no spare Ethernet port to find, which is the main practical difference between LIFX and bridge-based systems such as Philips Hue. Apple Home still needs a HomePod or an Apple TV in the house for remote access and for automations.
Before you buy
If the fitting is a bedside or table lamp, the LIFX Colour 800lm is the cheaper and more sensible choice. Buy 1100 lumens when the bulb is the main light source for a room.
If a security camera watches the room, look at the Nightvision Edition of this bulb instead. It is the same light with infrared added.
Check the cap fitting sold in your market: E26 in North America, E27 or bayonet elsewhere.
