The Lipro Smart Electric Curtain is a motorised curtain track from Lipro, the smart home brand associated with Meizu. It moves an ordinary pair of curtains along a powered track, which is a different job from a roller blind: curtains block far more light and insulate a window better, and they suit a room where a blind would look wrong.
What works in Apple Home
- Open and close the curtains, and set them to a position in between.
- Group them with the rest of the room.
- Use them in scenes and automations, and control them with Siri.
A curtain in a scene is one of the more satisfying pieces of home automation, because it changes the room rather than just the lighting.
Before you buy
Measure first. A motorised track is cut to the width of the window, so the track length, the bracket type and whether the curtains open from the centre or draw to one side all have to be decided before ordering.
The motor needs power at the end of the track. On most windows that means either a socket nearby or a cable chased into the wall, so this is best planned alongside decorating rather than retrofitted afterwards.
Lipro sells mainly in mainland China. Check the supply voltage, the plug type and the app language before importing one, and confirm that the version you are buying is the Apple Home model.
