Lockin Palm Vein Smart Lock V5 Max

Bluetooth

The Lockin Palm Vein Smart Lock V5 Max is a push-pull lock whose headline feature is palm vein recognition. Rather than reading the surface of a fingerprint, it reads the vein pattern under the skin of your hand, without contact. That is harder to copy than a fingerprint, and it keeps working when hands are wet, cold or dirty.

What works in Apple Home

  • Lock and unlock the door from the Home app, and see the current state.
  • Get a notification on every lock and unlock event.
  • Use the lock in scenes and automations, for example to turn on the hall light when the door opens.

Siri asks you to authenticate before it unlocks the door. That is how Apple Home treats every lock, and it is not a limitation of this model.

Ways in

The V5 Max stacks up more entry methods than almost anything else in this directory: palm vein, 3D structured-light face recognition, fingerprint, PIN code, NFC card, the app over Bluetooth, one-time passwords and a mechanical key.

Before you buy

Lockin is a Chinese brand and the V5 series is sold mainly in Asia and Australia, so check local availability, the language of the interface and the warranty position in your country. Push-pull locks also replace the whole handle assembly, so confirm the door thickness and the preparation first.

The Lockin Palm Vein Smart Lock V5 Pro sits below it in the same series.
