The Marantz MODEL 60n is a full-size integrated amplifier with network streaming and a digital-to-analogue converter built in, styled in Marantz’s traditional way with the porthole display.
It is the conventional-looking alternative to the compact MODEL M4: a proper full-width component for a hi-fi rack, with more power and a fuller connection set.
What Apple Home actually does with it
This is an AirPlay 2 speaker rather than a HomeKit accessory.
- It appears in the Home app as a speaker you can play to, and as an AirPlay target in Control Centre.
- You can assign it to a room and group it with HomePods for synchronised multi-room audio.
- Siri can send music to it by room name.
- It can be the audio output in a scene or an automation.
You cannot switch it on or set its volume from the Home app the way you would a light. Those stay with the speaker itself and its own app.
Before you buy
A phono stage is included for a turntable, and HDMI ARC lets it take sound from a television, so it can genuinely be the only box in the system.
Full-size components need shelf depth and ventilation. Measure before ordering.
HEOS provides multi-room across Marantz and Denon, alongside AirPlay 2.
