Mila Air Mini

Wi-Fi

The Mila Air Mini is the smaller purifier in Mila’s range. It takes up about 30 per cent less floor space than the full-size Mila Air, which is the difference between a machine that fits beside a bedside table and one that does not.

Coverage

Mila rates it at around 318 square feet at five air changes an hour, and up to about 714 square feet at two changes an hour. For a bedroom or a study that is ample.

What it leaves out

Six sensors rather than eight. It reads PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 particulates, temperature, humidity and carbon monoxide, and it drops the VOC sensor and the pressure sensor of the larger model.

The VOC sensor is the one to think about. If your concern is paint, glue, cleaning products or a newly fitted kitchen, that is the sensor that would see it. If your concern is dust, pollen or pet dander, the particulate sensors do the work and the Mini loses you nothing.

Filters

The same seven filter options as the rest of the range, so you can tune the machine to allergies, pets or odours.

What works in Apple Home

  • Turn the purifier on and off, and set the fan speed.
  • Read the air quality it reports.
  • Use it in scenes and automations, and control it with Siri.

As with any Apple Home accessory, remote access and automations need a home hub in the house: a HomePod or an Apple TV.
