PIPELIFE FLOORTHERM Router

The PIPELIFE FLOORTHERM Router is the hub for Pipelife’s FloorTherm underfloor heating system. It connects the FloorTherm thermostats to your network and brings each heated room into Apple Home as its own zone.

Room-by-room control is the point

Underfloor heating is slow. It takes hours to warm a slab and hours to cool it, which makes the usual whole-house on-off approach wasteful. FloorTherm handles each room separately, and its geo-location does the same: leaving the house does not have to switch the entire system off, because you decide room by room what happens when nobody is home.

Smart Profiles are stored in the hub itself rather than in the app, so the schedule keeps running whether or not a phone is nearby.

What works in Apple Home

• Set the target temperature for each room, and read the current temperature.
• Use each room in scenes and automations, and control it with Siri.

Before you buy

This is a system, not an accessory. The router is useless without FloorTherm thermostats wired into the manifold, so it is normally specified as part of an underfloor heating installation rather than bought separately.

As with any Apple Home accessory, remote access and automations need a home hub in the house: a HomePod or an Apple TV.
