Rollease Acmeda Automate motorised blinds with Pulse 2 Hub

Wi-FiHub required

The Automate Pulse 2 Hub brings Rollease Acmeda’s motorised blinds into Apple Home. The blinds themselves talk to the hub over ARC, Rollease’s own radio, and the hub is what translates that into something the Home app can see.

One hub handles up to 30 motorised blinds or shades, which is a whole house rather than a room.

What works in Apple Home

  • Open and close each blind, and set it to a position in between.
  • Group blinds by room.
  • Use them in scenes and automations, and control them with Siri.

The hub also does sunrise and sunset tracking of its own, raising and lowering shades against the sun’s position, and stores up to 20 rooms, scenes and timers.

Before you buy

Two things to check.

The hub needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It will not join a network broadcasting only on 5 GHz, which catches people out on newer routers.

More importantly, the Pulse 2 has been superseded by the Pulse PRO, which adds Matter support along with better range. If you are buying new rather than adding a hub to an existing installation, look at the newer model first.

Motorised blinds are made to measure and normally installed by the supplier, so the hub is usually specified as part of that job rather than bought on its own.
