The T+A Symphonia is an all-in-one music system from T+A, combining the electronics and the loudspeakers into a single sculptural object rather than a rack of components and a pair of boxes on stands.
It is the most design-led product T+A makes, and it is aimed at a room where a conventional system would be unwelcome but the sound still has to be serious.
What Apple Home actually does with it
This is an AirPlay 2 device rather than a HomeKit accessory.
- It appears in the Home app as a speaker you can play to, and as an AirPlay target in Control Centre.
- You can put it in a room and group it with HomePods for synchronised multi-room audio.
- Siri can send music to it by room name.
- It can be the audio output in a scene or an automation.
Power, input selection and volume stay with the unit, its remote and its own app. The Home app does not control those.
Before you buy
Products of this kind are bought for the room as much as for the sound. Consider where it will stand and how it relates to the space, because unlike separates it cannot be hidden.
T+A is sold through specialist dealers and demonstrated before purchase, which is the right way to buy something this specific.
The R 2500 R is the company’s all-in-one receiver for use with separate speakers.
